Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, a Los Angeles, Calif.-based investment adviser, has licensed Cogency Alternative Investment. Cogency Alternative Investment is a solution by Burlingame, Calif.-based software provider, Cogency, which is targeted at hedge funds and other alternative investment firms for the aggregation and management of enterprisewide information. Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors will use the product to consolidate portfolio information, provide a single investor relationship perspective and deliver user-defined views of firmwide data on both the client and investment sides of the business.

"The Cogency solution, in particular its InvestorManager and InstitutionManager modules, will enable us to strengthen our investor relationship management and increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our back-office operations," said John Daley, CFO, Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, in a press release.
